Enterprise VoIP communication system Communication that keeps the railways talking.

We built the VoIP communication system that runs a railway's entire internal voice network: Asterisk underneath, our own control application on top, on 2 + 2 redundant servers. The same enterprise VoIP solution now serves call centres, BPOs, plants and remote sites.

Delivered · railway communication system

Proven where calls cannot wait.

A railway's entire internal voice communication runs on this platform: one system for the people who keep trains, stations and operations moving.

01The challenge
Internal voice across a railway's stations, control rooms and sites had to live on one system, on the railway's own network, and keep working when hardware fails.
02What we built
A complete VoIP communication system: Asterisk for SIP signalling and media, and our own control application on top, over ARI, managing call control, routing, permissions and groups.
03The result
The railway's whole internal voice communication now runs on it, on 2 + 2 redundant servers with no single point of failure in the server layer.

Architecture · Asterisk ARI

Asterisk underneath. Our control layer on top.

Layer 1 · Endpoints

Any standard SIP device.

Desk phones, softphones on PCs and mobiles, and SIP gateways that connect existing lines and analogue equipment.

Layer 2 · Asterisk

Asterisk carries the call.

The open-source telephony engine handles SIP signalling and media: setting calls up, moving the audio, bridging parties.

Layer 3 · Control application

Our application decides.

AnvesionTech's control application talks to Asterisk over ARI and manages the entire communication: call control, routing, who can call whom, groups and operations.

Layer 4 · Console & integrations

Run it, see it, connect it.

Administrators manage users, groups and routing from one console, watch live dashboards and call logs, and connect CRM or ticketing through APIs.

Redundant VoIP

2 + 2 redundant servers. No single point of failure.

Normal operation

Two pairs. Every server has a partner.

The platform runs on 2 + 2 redundant servers: two pairs, so no single machine holds up anyone's calls.

A server fails

Hardware fails. Plan for it.

A disk, a power supply or a whole machine can go down. Here, server 1A stops responding.

Calls continue

Its pair keeps everyone talking.

Communication continues on server 1B, so stations and control rooms stay reachable. Once repaired, 1A rejoins its pair.

Capabilities

An IP PBX for call centres and control rooms, built on Asterisk.

Standard telephony features from Asterisk, shaped by our control layer into the system your teams need. Each deployment is configured to your requirements.

IVR menus

Voice menus route callers to the right team, extension or queue.

Queues & agent routing

Queues hold callers and route them to available agents in contact centres.

Hotlines & group calls

Priority hotlines and group calls for operational teams.

Ring & hunt groups

Ring a team at once, or hunt through members until someone answers.

Conference bridges

Bridges for planned meetings and quick multi-party calls.

Call recording

Record calls by policy, stored on your own servers.

Voicemail

Personal and group mailboxes for when nobody can answer.

Extensions & directory

Extension dialling and a shared directory across every site.

SIP endpoints

Desk phones, softphones and gateways on open SIP.

Who can call whom

Calling permissions per user, group or location, set centrally.

Live dashboards & CDR

See calls, queues and endpoints live, with a call log (CDR) for every call.

APIs & integrations

Our ARI-based control layer lets workflows connect to CRM, ticketing or in-house systems.

Use cases

One platform, wherever people need to talk.

  1. Railways Delivered

The railway's entire internal voice communication, on one system.

  2. Call centres

Queues, IVR and agent routing on infrastructure you own.

  3. BPOs

BPO telephony with client-specific queues, recording and call logs.

  4. Manufacturing plants

Shop floor, control room and offices on one internal network.

  5. Edge & remote sites

Remote locations on the same private system as headquarters.

  6. Enterprise internal comms

A private internal phone system you own, not rent.

Why AnvesionTech

Your communication system, not a rented one.

On-premise VoIP that follows the same principle as DeviceManager, SecureOS and Sovereign ZTNA: it runs on your servers, on your network.

Explore our other custom solutions
  • Self-hosted, on your network

Servers in your data centre or sites. Call audio, recordings and logs stay with you.

  • Open standards

Built on SIP and Asterisk, so you choose the desk phones, softphones and gateways.

  • No per-seat cloud lock-in

You own the deployment instead of renting seats from a hosted telephony provider.

  • A control layer shaped to you

Because it is ARI-based, routing, permissions and workflows follow how you operate.

  • Supported by the team that built it

The engineers behind the railway system plan, deploy and support yours.

FAQ

Questions about the VoIP platform.

What is the VoIP platform built on?
Asterisk, the open-source telephony engine, handles SIP signalling and media. On top of it runs AnvesionTech's own control application, which talks to Asterisk over ARI (the Asterisk REST Interface) and manages the entire communication: call control, routing logic, who can call whom, groups and day-to-day operations.
Is it only for railways?
No. A railway's entire internal voice communication runs on it today, and the same platform is reusable for call centres, BPOs, manufacturing plants, edge and remote sites, and any organisation that wants its own private internal communication system.
How does the 2 + 2 server redundancy work?
The platform runs on two redundant server pairs. Every server has a partner, so if one server fails, communication continues on its pair and there is no single point of failure in the server layer. We design the exact redundancy layout with you for your sites.
Is it on-premise, or a cloud service?
It is on-premise VoIP. The servers run in your own data centre or sites, on your network, so call audio, recordings and call logs stay with you. There is no per-seat cloud subscription to rent.
Which phones and devices does it work with?
It is built on SIP, the open standard for VoIP, so it works with standard SIP desk phones, softphones and SIP gateways. We confirm specific models and gateways for your environment during planning.
Can it integrate with our CRM or ticketing system?
Yes. Because the control layer is built on ARI, call events and actions are available to our application, so workflows can be customised, for example to connect calls with your CRM, ticketing or in-house systems through APIs.
